Summary:
This position is responsible for gathering and translating business requirements into detailed functional specifications and or functional specifications into technical specifications and managing requests for changes to the specifications; provides expert participation and counsel to IS team members, project teams and business customers on the most complex aspects of project definition, applications, design, implementation, integration, cost estimation, standardization, and support. The position is conversant with current and future IS application architecture and with emerging technologies. Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Act as liaison between the business, researchers, geneticists and IS; perform all duties associated with the project lifecycle and application portfolio management; conduct team member training; provide on-call support and problem resolution for software applications; act as catalyst to implement strategic and tactical solutions consistent with the goals of the business; assist in developing system application architecture; lead and participate in the development of complex system designs across multiple business applications; validate enterprise system functional and or technical designs to ensure solutions correspond to strategic direction; lead cross functional meetings, functional and technical specifications reviews and application code reviews; provide IS and the business with technical direction and advise on technology and process improvement; ensure assigned project deliverables stay within stated timelines scope and costs; will sometimes be responsible for the development of project plans schedules; provide management with accurate and timely status reports of all projects as assigned; participate in the development and evaluation of System Life Cycle deliverables and coding standards. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Systems or other technical area. Equivalent work experience may be acceptable.
Experience:
6 plus years of experience in Information Systems or related area with proven analysis experience Computer Skills:
Extensive understanding of business process design and experience using and building a System Development Lifecycle Methodology; significant experience designing building and implementing enterprise level solutions; ability to create analyze and evaluate information systems proposals; extensive knowledge of relevant multi-user computer systems applications and or equipment; knowledge of current technology developments and trends; experience developing and executing integrated test plans; excellent problem solving skills; ability to explain complex solutions at a high level; Experience with data gathering data cleansing and data loading. Hands on experience with business intelligence tools would be beneficial. Communication Skills:
Above average verbal and written skills; ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical team members; experience providing constructive feedback to other team members. Travel:
Minimal travel required. Successful applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. Vaccine verification will be required by October 1, 2021 for Corporate based team members and by November 1, 2021 for facility-based team members. Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K
